Miss Me?
This is a post! You guys are excited aren't you?! Nah...I think you guys must have been bored with me not updating much!
The no.1 reason I am updating is because I can't sleep! Just came back from gym an hour ago. The one thing I do not like about excercise at night is, I get more active and awake! Caffeine makes me sleepy and excercise wakes me up. I think I need to do a full body check.
Second reason is, I promised to update about Italy. Which i haven't been! So now, a little snippet of what happened there.
Third is because I just happen to stumble across to someone's blog. And she tagged me. The name is Robber's daughter. I guess most of you should have guessed who's that right?
So to Italy we go!
The trip to Italy was quite sudden actualy. Well, not really. We did thought of going together months ago. Oh, by together I mean another two of my singaporean friends. So we did not actually plan when we're going. All of it happen few days before I head for Italy. All flights, train, accommodation booked three days before departure! Lucky shit all the flights are still cheap.
We actually planned to do a short 5day trip. But unfortunately, the flight ticket back on the 5th day cost a bomb! We calculated that we could use the money and stay for another two days, and going back two days later is cheaper. This is how cheap it goes. 5th day flight back cost Euro180. 7th day flight back cost Euro19.90! Well of course, a month later it cost Euro0.01.

We had to stay overnight in the airport before our flight. Because the flight is at 9am! And the airport is in London's outskirt area. We took train to London from Birmingham at 8pm. Reach the airport around 11.50pm. And lepak around the airport for 9hours before flight. This is what you do to save money on flights!
And so we landed in Galileo Galilei Airport in Pisa. Being in Pisa, our first destination is of course the famous leaning tower of Pisa!
Did You Know: That the leaning tower is actually a bell tower for the cathedral?! Well, I didn't know that! I thought its just some tower like Eiffel Tower or KL Tower.
This is the brick wall and the gate wall entrance to La Piazza del Duomo. Which basicly means The Public Square of the Dome.
This is the La Piazza del Duomo. The building on the most left with the orange roof dome is the baptistery. The building in the middle with the tiny dome is the Cathedral. The one being far right is of course the tower!
This is the upclose of the baptistery. The architecture is just amazing! I think they're replacing the roof as there is no roof tiles on the other side of the dome.

This building is also part of La Piazza del Duomo. This is the Monumental Cemetery. I wanted to go inside, but we didn't have much time to spend. I wanted to enter the baptistery too, but time forbids me.
This is just some of the architecture at the main entrance of the cathedral. I just love the arcs and the beams and the wonderful carvings on it.
This is at one corner inside the cathedral. I think it is someone's tomb. Why didn't I check out what is that? I tried! Everything is in ITALIAN! ME NO SPEAK OR READ ITALIAN!

This is my poor brother. He tried to steal a chocolate bar for me, and got cought. This is Jesus! not my brother! I don't need to explain further do I? Its at the main altar.

This is the view of the hall in the cathedral. Saw the girl in cyan? She was wearing a white spaghetti top and a cyan skirt. The cathedral are quite strict, so she had to wear something like a mantel piece made of paper to cover the "exposed" part of her body.
And so we went to the tower. This the view halfway going to the top of the tower. The building on the right clad in white marble is the cathedral.

And the down I go from the tower. The people working at the tower are quite rude I must say. This is a real bad first impression.
After that visiting the tower we rushed towards the train station to catch an hour and half train to Florence. I didn't take much picture after the tower because I was quite exhausted because I haven't slept the night before. When we reached Florence, we had trouble finding our B&B. We somehow manage to find it, but its out of the human congested city area so another 20min bus (We didn't know how to get there by train just yet, the train would take 5min only) to our B&B. I must say, the owner of the B&B is very very very friendly and nice! He showed us to an awesome restaurant! Which is cheap and suprisingly good! That is when I had my very first true italian Risotto with Porcini mushroom! So smooth and delicious! A very comforting food I must say. Sort of like Italian porridge really...
So there goes my first day in Italy. I'll come back with more pictures for the rest of the trip kay?
